June 26, 2007 ( Complex rhinoplasty and functional nasal reconstruction)

Dear Dr. Boahene,

I am writing this letter to acknowledge your wonderful reconstructive operation that you completed on my nose. Now I am able to breathe on my own without using a C-PAP machine. It is a blessing to know an otolaryngology/plastic surgeon (a type of surgeon that operates on the ears, nose and throat portions of the body) who can complete such hard tadks on people.

I am so glad that you did my surgery so professionally and accurately. I don't think I'll ever need assistance with breathing using a C-PAP or any other type of machine, thanks to you. Everybody thinks my nose looks fantastic. Dr. Sinada said it looked fabulous and that when all the swelling goes down in a year , my nose will look just like my mom's nose.

I am so grateful that I have a different nose. Although it takes time for me to get used to having a newly reconstructed nose. To tell you the truth, before I wanted to keep my old nose ( this was when I was really swollen). Now, I realize that  I like my new nose better because the nose I had before was not how my nose was supposed to look. Also, I am able to breathe through my nose as opposed to always breathing by mouth. When I look in the mirror  I am able to actually see the nose that I had when I was younger. I can see that the swelling has gone down tremendously since the surgery (June 11th, 2007).

Dr. Boahene, thank you so much for all the hard work you did to improve my breathing. I can definitely feel a change and I like the change, My nasal passages are open and I am able to inhale and exhale a lot better through my nose. You are the best otolaryngology/ plastic surgeon in the world. I believe that in the future you are going to help people alot. I believe you can accompliash the many, many goals that you wish to complete on different people with different circumstances. I believe that you can do this because you've shown it by just reconstructing my nose to make me breathe better. For I know that this was the whole purpose of the surgery taking place at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Thanks again.

Sincerely

Noelle

21 February 2007 (Rhinoplasty)

Dear Dr. Boahene,

Given the beautiful work you do and your extraordinary academic cretentials, I have to admit that I probably would have chosen you as my surgeon even if you'd been gruff and cold. I feel so fortunate that the most talented platic surgeon in the region is also an exceptionally kind and gentle person. Thank you for listening so carefully to what I wanted, for taking such good care of me, and fore doing exactly what I wanted. This could not have turned out better!

Very gratefully,

Barbara

ps. Please feel free to gice my name to prospective patients wanting to talk to a past patient.
